Biography:
Æthelflæd's date of birth is unknown, though she was likely born within the Kingdom of England during the early 900s. The identity of her parents are also not known for sure, however, her father is suspected to have been Ordmær, Ealdorman of East Anglia, and she was described as having been of great noble birth. 

Not much is known about her early life, but she was described by chroniclers as having been well educated.
 
Her marriage to Edgar likely took place around the year 957, before he became king. Edgar was around 14 years old when they married, and he became King of England in 959 at the age of 16. Æthelflæd became the Queen Consort of England at the same time, and the two of them would go on to have one child together, Edward.
 
After this, Æthelflæd disappears from historical records. 

She likely died some time around 964 of unknown causes.
